"Progress through Pedigree and Performance"

Hancock 7081 Sire: "Leverage" Dam: "Barron" Daughter Birthdate: January 2007 DNA: RRNN Mike Hancock called 7081 a female sire that can provide us with winning wethers while we continue to build a strong foundation base of outstanding ewes. 7081 is a long-sided ram with great Hampshire type and strong line of winning genetics. He has a solid rack, outstanding loin and top with a great hip and leg. If you want to see a ram with great wheels, bone, and structure that handles well, 7081 should be on your list. He walks out wide and strong from the profile and behind. If you get down to the Hancock farm and want to see an outstanding ewe (and there are many), look up 7081's sister. That ewe could be an exciting producer in the lambing barn in 2008! |
Hancock 7081 (a.k.a. "Le BaRRoNN") joins the stud ram line up bred primarily to our Hancock brood ewes along with the "Ultra" and "100 Proof" ewe lambs in the purchase. The "Leverage" ewe lambs are being bred to our "Trademark" grandson: "IRRoNN" -- the full brother to the Grand Champion of the TCLA Fall Classic both days in 2004. |

"IRRoNN" Simpson "6019" Sire: "Icon" ("Trademark" x 277) Dam: "Trendsetter" Daughter (Dam of 2004 TCLA Fall Classic Grand Champion - Both Days) Birthdate: January 2006 DNA: RRNN
"IRRoNN" has an exceptional "up-fronted" profile with a clean chest floor, level-square hip, big loin, and that special look that so many want in their Hampshire-influenced lambs. Add in the genetic power he brings as the Full Brother to the lamb that won Grand Champion at both days of the 2004 TCLA Fall Classic and as a tight breeding package tracing through "Icon" to "Trademark" and you have a stud ram candidate worth every mention!
Combining the tremendous profile and exceptional loin in this "Trademark" grandson with the daughters of "Benchmark" (our "Trademark" son) and with our big racked "Extra RR" lines, should allow us to produce those special lambs that are extremely complete with the muscle and pattern that is a must to compete in the major shows.
Jason Simpson described "IRRoNN's" mother as one of the "doesn't miss" ewes. This "Trendsetter" ("Train" x Cabaniss) daughter dammed the lamb that was Grand Champion both days of the 2004 TCLA Fall Classic.
"IRRoNN's" sire - "Icon" - sired the dam of the $38,500 high-selling Reserve Supreme Champion Wether Sire at the 2006 Midwest Stud Ram Sale - Wether Sire Classic. That high-selling ram was sired by "Template" -- another "Trademark" son. Lining up to the "Trademark" ram was our goal with purchasing "IRRoNN" this spring - it looks that much better of a choice now! |
"IRRoNN" We purchased "IRRoNN" in the spring of 2006 for his genetic potential in our flock with that cool look with a great deal of muscle and that square hip. The genetic combination of the "Trademark" line through "Benchmark" with our "Extra RR" sheep has been impressive. "IRRoNN" provides us with an opportunity to infuse another shot of the "Trademark" ram with a tremendous loin/hip/leg combination in a tremendous profiling package. |

"Extra RR"
Sire: "Extreme Heat" Dam: All-American 1047 ("Buzzsaw" x "Genesis") Birthdate: February 2003 DNA: RRNN This is one of the lead stud rams since his inaugural year with us in 2003. "Extra RR" sires those huge tops and loins that our sheep have been selected to carry. We get this and a tidy front end and great maternal quality in the daughters of "Extra RR". "Extra RR" was sired by the "Extreme Heat" ram that was the biggest racked lamb we found in 2002, "Extra RR" put all the good qualities of his sire into a package that was better through the hip and that has proven the value time and time again. "Intense" was the $23,500 Supreme Champion Wether Sire at the Midwest Sale in 2001. Cabaniss 449 was the dam of the NAILE Reserve Champion Market Lamb in 2000. |
Winning market lambs in the ring and tremendous ewes in the lambing barn that produce great lambs. "Extra RR" is the complete package.
Winners by "Extra RR" or "Extra RR" Sons
The "Fantastic 4" rams produced in 2005 that have gone on to do so much for our program and others ("RRack 'Em Up"; "X-RRay"; G05-02; and G05-05) were all "Extra RR" sons. A lightning strike took out "G05-02", "G05-05", and "Trailblazer" this year along with an older "Buzzsaw" ram at the farm. In order to replicate the power that we had in "G05-02" and "G05-05" we are breeding "Extra RR" to over 70 ewes this year. "Extra RR's" powerful daughters and sons are tremendous and we are going to use him heavily to put more of those genetics back in the flock. |
